A downloadable game

This is a small hobby project of mine that I've been working on. The name of the project is 'SKAL' and you play as a small orange cube that has to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. Currently there is no 'lose function' other than the player dying, however it is one of the things I'm currently looking into.

The controls are fairly simple. WASD or the arrow keys to move around. Shift is for sprinting, and Space is for jumping.

I would love to get some constructive critiscm on the game in order to make it better.

The game runs on the Unity Engine.

PS. Sorry for the sound effects, they might be a little annoying at times due to some bugs. The audio can be turned off in the options menu.

In order to play the prototype all you have to do is download the files, then make sure that the data folder and the .exe file are in the same folder. After that simply boot up the .exe file and it should start the game. I recommend playing in 1920x1080 or lower, since the files have not yet been optimized for ultrawide monitors.

Hey, so i played through your game ;)
What grabbed my attention was the nice orange - blue color pallete.

Obviously, as of now, there isn't much else that makes the game stand out ;p. If you have some time and ideas, try adding a unique mechanic, it may seem like there's nothing left to invent in the genere, but even a small twist can make a big difference.

The controlls are ok, a bit slippery.

Level design is simple, but that's how normal for prototype, i liked the use of lasers. I'm not really good at platformers, but only level 8 was challenging.

A couple of minor issues:
 - After completing game, if you backtrack and complete a level, you cannot go to further levels, you have to beat each level again from that level.
 - Going uphill is very slow (maybe it's intentional).
 - The camera doesn't capture level borders.
 - SFX option doesn't change anything.

Good luck on further development!

Also, is the name SKAL just a temporary placeholder, or does it actually mean something?

wait this was uploaded 3 years ago kekw.

Actually 4+ years ago :P

Thanks for the feedback on the game anyway, I might come back to it at some point, who knows.

As far as I remember the name of the prototype was meant to symbolize that I had to finish the prototype no matter what and put it up on itch. At the time I had a bad habit of starting project all over the place, so I wanted to finish a prototype.
